About

Yang(Yana) Yang

I was born in Japan and moved to China at the age of 12. Currently, I move between the UK, US, Japan, and China, which has given me a rich and diverse cultural perspective. This blend of experiences allows me to infuse my work with a unique, cross-cultural approach, drawing inspiration from the rich traditions and influences of each region.

I hold a Master of Science in Design in Advanced Architectural Design from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD focused on carbon and energy-reducing design. My academic background has significantly shaped my artistic approach.

Morphology, geometry and performance-based design. I am particularly inspired by how a building's energy performance shapes its form and how the natural environment interacts with and negotiates the structure's shape. This dynamic relationship between architecture and its surroundings is central to my approach, as I seek to create designs that are both efficient and in harmony with nature
